According to Variety.com, Busy Philipps has joined the film “A Case of You”.

Justin Long is getting behind the camera, writing and producing the indie “A Case of You” and starring himself, Evan Rachel Wood and Peter Dinklage.

Kat Coiro is on board to direct with Keir O’Donnell and Long’s younger brother, Christian, joining him on writing duties. O’Donnell and Busy Phillips are also on board to co-star.

Story revolves around a young writer who tries to impress a girl he meets online with an embellished profile, but finds himself in a real mess when she falls for him and he has to keep up the act.

O’Donnell will also join Justin Long as a producer alongside Holly Wiersma, Logan Levy, and Jessie Kennedy. Cassian Elwes, Frank Levy, Brintton Sanderford, Brice Sanderford, Christian Long, Jessica Neuman and Robert Barnum are exec producing.

L&L is financing the picture with Red Granite selling international rights and serving as exec producers.Film is lensing in New York.

It has just been announced that Busy Philipps will be filming a scene for the movie “Cleveland, I Love You” in February!

Paul Lee, the president of entertainment at ABC, said the beloved comedy starring Courteney Cox will be back on the network this March. Lee made the announcement during his executive session panel at the Television Critics Association press tour on Tues., Jan. 10.

No specific date has been given, but according to several reporters in the room, ABC plans to give the Bill Lawrence show a big promotional push.

Cougar Town may be back sooner than we thought.

When ABC yanked Courteney Cox’s hit sitcom from the midseason lineup, it was believed they’d return in March.

However…

“Hopefully sooner,” costar Busy Philipps told us last night at the Alice + Olivia fashion show benefiting Baby Buggy at the London West Hollywood hotel. “[Producer] Bill Lawrence gave us a big pep talk today saying that he thinks sooner, so fingers crossed.

“We like to think that the network knows what they’re doing,” she added with a laugh.

Even so, Philipps said, “It’s confusing…It’s a bummer, but hopefully it will be a good thing.”

Not like any of this is keeping the cast and crew from working. “There’s going to be a wedding,” Philipps said. “There’s going to be possibly another vacation someplace fun. My character has an amazing new business venture that they ripped from my personal life.”

Thank goodness the TV Gods moved Philipps out of ho-hum roles (like Audrey on ‘Dawson’s Creek’) and bestowed upon her the out-there role of Laurie on ‘Cougar Town.’ She’s been given the chance to really shine as the resident partier/drinker/philanderer to Courteney Cox’s more straight-laced Jules. (Prep for Season 3! Ziplining! Ankle bracelet!) Philipps is a natural comic foil, and she’s responsible for most of the truly funny moments on this show.
