Busy Philipps on Chad Michael Murray: He’s a ‘douche’
We love Busy Philipps.
On the panel for Wednesday night’s Paley Center event, celebrating the November 10th release of “‘Dawson’s Creek’: The Complete Series” on DVD, Philipps divulged a few key pieces of information…
A) She feels her “Cougar Town” character Laurie is really just Audrey Liddell all grown up (“all” being a relative term)
B) She spent most of her time in Wilmington, North Carolina — where “Dawson’s” was shot — drunk.
C) Chad Michael Murray was on her first flight from L.A. to North Carolina and she was super worried people would think the two of them were dating. Don’t have a complete quote for you, but I know for sure her sentence ended with “…and I get stuck with this douche?”
Yes, Busy Philipps called Chad Michael Murray a douche in front of a packed house at The Paley Center for Media and when her fellow panelists reacted with a couple shocked looks, she responded by saying, “Don’t worry. I’m not real worried about burning bridges with CMM.”
Amazing.
For the record, Dawson — er, um, Van Der Beek (James) — having just worked with the Chadster on “One Tree Hill” last season, sort of stood up for him, insisting a couple times that “He’s actually come a long way” …which I suppose means that James feels Murray was once a douche, but not so much anymore?
Busy is not convinced.
After the event, she tweeted the following: Just finished the dawson’s creek panel. Maybe I was too harsh on chadM2… Nah.
